LAHORE : Jan 4, 2023: Pakistan Teheek-e -Insaf (PTI) chairman , Imran Khan, has cautioned to his party that he could be arrested and in that case it should pour out on the streets to pressurise the government for his release.
Former prime minister ‘s claim regarding his possible arrest has come in an environment when he is facing disqualification as chief of his party in Tosha Khana case.
” I want to caution you that they (The.government ) may arrest me and if it happens the entire nation should come out to the streets to pressurise the government for my early release”, Imran Khan told a party meeting held here on Wednesday.
Imran Khan quoted Turkish people ‘s reaction over overthrown of Aurdogan of Turkey and desired that his party should mobilise the public in no time against his possible arrest and force the authorities to release him without any delay.
Aurdogan of Turkey was overthrown by Turkish army in July 2016 and Turkish people have resisted the military move and secured the government of Aurdogan in a few days .
Aurdogan ‘s case is a typical one in recent history. His nation had foiled coup aimed at ending of his rule in Turkey.
Imran Khan sees himself a leader like Aurdogan and wants similar reaction from Pakistani people in case he is arrested.
PTI chairman forgets while posing himself as popular political leader as Aurdogan of Turkey that Turkish president is neither a play boy nor a Godfather of any property tycon. Imran Khan should also keep in mind that unlike him Aurdogan never staged months long protests to intentionally damage his country economically and otherwise.
In fact by such statements , Imran Khan is preempting his possible arrest in Tosha Khana case.
