ISLAMABAD, November 2, 2024: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is set to travel to Iran today to participate in the 28th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO).
Dar will reaffirm Pakistan’s strong commitment to the ECO charter as well as speak about the importance of improving regional connectivity.
He will highlight the potential benefits of developing rail and road networks, liberalizing visa regimes, and simplifying border procedures to foster greater cooperation among member states.

Dar is also expected to raise concerns over the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East, stressing the risks they pose to regional peace and security.
Furthermore, he will sign the Charter for the ECO Clean Energy Center, marking a significant step toward regional environmental cooperation.
On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with fellow ministers and other dignitaries to discuss matters of mutual interest.
