PESHAWAR : Pakistan Tehreek- e -Insaf (PTI) has announced to launch Azadi long march on Islamabad on May 25, 2022.
PTI chairman, Imran Khan, announced the date for Islamabad Azadi long march here at a press conference after the meeting of core committee of his party. He declared the long march will stay in Islamabad as long as needed . Imran Khan said PTI has only one demand to dissolve the assemblies and call mid term general elections in the country. He repeated that PTI will not accept the rule of what he termed as the corrupt elements and claimed that the Islamabad march was for the real freedom. He left a message for the armed forces on the occasion that they are neutral and should remain neutral in the current political situation . He ruled out any threat to his life and asserted that he was ready to give his life for his cause . PTI chief warned to the bueaucracy to refrain from indulging in any thing like stopping the long march on May 25. He told his followers that he would join them in the long march at Kashmir Highway at 3 PM on May 25.
Imran Khan cautioned his followers that the government can shut down petrol pumps to stop their mobility and disconnect internet service to disrupt communication and they should make proper arrangements to tackle such odds for making the Azadi long march in advance .
“We have information that the government plans to shut down internet service across Pakistan two days ahead of Islamabad march “, PTI chief claimed .
Information minister, Maryam Aurangzeb , in her reaction to upcoming PTI long march said ‘Imran Khan wants to create law and order situation and his long march will be dealt with according”.
Maryam Aurangzeb said its the government to decide the schedule for next election at any appropriate time.
Federal minister and senior Pakistan People Party (PPP) , Sheri Rehman also ruled out any possibility of mid term elections. In a tweet, Sheri said ” Assemblies can not be dissolved on the woah of Imran Khan whose government damage Pakistan beyond repair’.
