JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia — By Noor-ul-Hassan Gujjar: A dinner was hosted in Jeddah in honour of Federal Minister for Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh by Masood Ahmed Puri, Patron of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Kashmir Committee.
The event was attended by leaders and representatives of the Pakistan Investors Forum, Kashmir Committee and various political and social organisations.
Speaking on the occasion, PML-N Saudi Arabia Patron Masood Ahmed Puri and Chairman Chaudhry Akram Gujjar congratulated Federal Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh on performing Umrah and appreciated his services to the government and the country.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said that visible signs of improvement were emerging in Pakistan’s economy and that the country’s foreign exchange reserves had reached around $20 billion.
He praised Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their services to the country. Referring to the tensions with India in May, he said Pakistan’s armed forces had given an effective and strong response and successfully demonstrated the country’s defence capabilities.
The minister said the same national resolve and spirit demonstrated in the defence sector now needed to be translated into the economic field. He said the government was taking measures to promote investment, industrial development and exports.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh urged overseas Pakistanis to take advantage of investment opportunities in Pakistan and play their role in strengthening the national economy. He said the government was taking practical steps to provide a conducive environment for investors and promote business activities.
Participants of the event also presented various proposals and suggestions aimed at strengthening the national economy, promoting investment and encouraging overseas Pakistanis to invest in Pakistan.
