Islamabad – On the completion of two years since the onset of Israeli aggression in Gaza, a protest rally was organized in Gujrat on the call of Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman. The rally commenced from the Press Club and concluded at Kutchery Chowk.
The protest was led by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab, Dr. Tariq Saleem, along with Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Gujrat, Chaudhry Ansar Mahmood Advocate, and Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Gujrat City, Sajid Sharif, among other leaders. A large number of citizens, including men, women, youth, and elders, took part in the demonstration to express solidarity with the people of Palestine.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Tariq Saleem said that two years have passed since Israel’s aggression on Gaza, yet neither the government nor opposition parties in Pakistan have issued a single condemnation of Israeli actions or of leaders such as Netanyahu and Trump. He criticized the ruling elite and establishment for seeking Western approval, stating that the government should abandon its push for a two-state solution and instead adopt a firm and principled national stance on Palestine.
Dr. Tariq Saleem warned that the Pakistani nation would strongly oppose any move towards recognizing Israel or joining the Abraham Accords. He welcomed the release of all flotilla participants, including former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, while condemning Israel’s aggression against the Global Resistance flotilla. “If anyone believes they can force recognition of Israel through pressure, they should know that the Pakistani nation will respond to the power of the gun with the power of faith,” he asserted.
Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Ansar Mahmood Advocate lauded Hamas for demonstrating wisdom and restraint in response to the so-called Trump peace deal. He noted that following Hamas’s response, Trump had urged Israel to halt its attacks—an appeal that remains unheeded. Mahmood questioned why the rulers of the Islamic world have failed to hold the U.S. accountable for its support of Israeli aggression. He further stated that Hamas’s struggle against imperialism has become a historic example for humanity and a guiding lesson for Islamic movements worldwide. “The mujahideen of Hamas have set an exemplary standard of discipline and obedience,” he said. Reaffirming Pakistan’s longstanding stance, he added, The founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and the entire nation have always maintained that Israel is an occupying state. Pakistan will never recognize its illegitimate existence.
