JPSD honors over 400 students for academic excellence at annual awards ceremony 2025

-Karachi, April 2025 : The Jamiat Punjabi Saudagaran-e-Delhi (JPSD) organized its 28th Annual Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony at Sada Bahar Lawn, celebrating the achievements of over 400 students from its community. The event recognized students for their outstanding academic performance and included the distribution of certificates and cash prizes.

Federal Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal and the Consul General of Türkiye, Cemal Sangu, attended as chief guests, alongside several honorary consuls, business leaders, and community members. The event was organized under the leadership of Saeed Shafiq, President of JPSD and former President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In his remarks, the Turkish Consul General emphasized the importance of education as a foundation for progress and transformation. He shared that Türkiye and Pakistan are close allies, with Türkiye supporting educational initiatives in Pakistan including scholarships for 200 students, teacher training for 8,000 educators, and educational assistance for over 20,000 children.

Saeed Shafiq highlighted the urgent need to reform Pakistan’s curriculum and examination systems, stating, “We cannot improve education unless we address the outdated syllabus. Education builds awareness, which leads to better decision-making.”

Ateeq ur Rehman, a senior community leader, expressed pride in JPSD’s legacy of welfare and educational service. He announced ongoing efforts to make the community thalassemia-free and acknowledged the financial independence and generosity of the community’s business leaders.

General Secretary Nadeem Ilyas said JPSD remains committed to recognizing and encouraging academic talent, referring to the awardees as “the future leaders of our community.”

Other speakers, including Advocate Junaid Aqleen, Mohammad Irfan, and Mansoor Suleman Aziz, praised the initiative for motivating students to pursue excellence. Mansoor further announced that JPSD currently operates four schools and recently launched IT courses, with plans to train 200 students in the coming year.

With over a million members, JPSD continues to serve in key areas such as education, healthcare, financial assistance, and youth development—cementing its status as a pillar of the community since its establishment in 1948.
