Karachi test ; Will Pakistan turn possible defeat into victory against New Zealand ?

KARACHI: Jan 5 ,2023:. New Zealand’s decision to declare its second inning of the second Karachi test after scoring 277 runs for 5 wickets on day 4 of Karachi test and put Pakistan into bat turned the host side in serious trouble as its two star bats fell to Tim Southee’s stunning spell even opening score on the board for Pakistan.

Pakistan ‘s M Hamza and A. Shafique turned back to the pavilion without having any individual score . Both got out for duck. These initial losses of two wickets have created a difficult situation for Pakistan. It also indicates Pakistan ‘s batting side is not only extremely unpredictable rather irresponsible in cricket game, but also unwilling to take the challenge of the game upright.

New Zealand had scored 449.runs in the first inning . In reply to it Pakistan scored 407 runs in its first inning.
New Zealand declared its second inning after scoring 277 runs and its 5 wickets were down.

New Zealand has given a target to Pakistan of 319 runs from 90.1 overs.

In 90.1 over and full one day of the last test match in hand , Pakistan should have played responsibly and made every possible effort to win the test to equalise the series with New Zealand, but its batters showed extremely disappointing behaviour. Now with loss of two wickets and at a zero score it seems difficult for Pakistan to reach to the shore and win the decisive test against New Zealand.

A game assessment shows Pakistan and only 11 percent chances of winning the test against New Zealand . New Zealand has 41 percent chances of win of Karachi test . The chances of going the Karachi test draw have gone up to 48 percent.

Pakistan ‘s performance in test cricket is under question. Recently, Pakistan lost a series to England by 3-0 . Now Babar XI is facing white wash at the hand of New Zealand .

Such a pathetic performance of Pakistan cricket should be a source.of concern for Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
