Karachi, May19, 2022:. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman justice (R) , Javed Iqbal, chaired a meeting on Thursday to review NAB-Karachi performance , especially convictions made under section 10 of National Accountability Ordinance (NAO)-1999 from 2017 to April 30, 2022. NAB director general, Dr. Najaf Quli Mirza, attended the meeting via video link. NAB chief appreciated excellent performance of NAB Karachi. Lauding the performance of NAB Karachi bureau Javed Iqbal said that ranks of NAB Karachi’s officers/officials were doing great job and hoped that it keep functioning in future with the same zeal and commitment in accordance with law. He said that logical conclusion of mega corruption white collar crime cases is the top most priority of NAB. NAB’s faith is corruption free Pakistan.
During the meeting, Dr. Najaf Quli Mirza, informed the meeting that during January 2022 to 30 April 2022, 4 persons were convicted by different learned accountability courts of Karachi under section 10 of NAO-1999. The details of the 4 convicted persons under section 10 of NAO-1999: These were
Habib Ahmed Khan S/o Latif Ahmed Khan & Others. Accused Habib Ahmed Khan S/o Latif Ahmed Khan, was convicted by the accountability court on 27.01.2022 with a fine of Rs. 10 million, Ahmed Jameel Ansari & Others. Accused Jameel Ansari S/o Zill-ur-Rehman Ansari and Muhammad Ajmal Ansari S/o Zill-ur-Rehman Ansari were convicted by the accountability court on 27.01.2022 with a fine of Rs. 1,776.55 million, Hussain Bux Narejo & Others. Accused Shafiq Ahmed Soomro S/o Abdul Wahab was convicted by the accountability court on 31.03.2022 with a fine of Rs. 68.55 million.
NAB Karachi DG further informed the meeting that 53 persons were convicted by different accountability courts. These included Syed Muhammad Furqan & Others (Supplementary Reference filed on 03.04.13) (SECP).Accused Syed Muhammad Furqan S/o Syed Nisar Hussain, Rasheed Ahmed S/o Fareed Ahmed, Muhammad Saleem Yousuf S/o Muhammad Yousuf and Aftab Hassan S/o Shamsul Hassan, Shafiq Ahmed Khan & Others. Nisar Ahmed Jan Memon (Nisar Morai) & Others, Muhammad Anwar Baloch & Others. Imran Ghani (Owner/ proprietor of M/s Usman Textile Mill) & Others , Matloob Ahmed & Others, Wazir Ali & Others, Noor Muhammad (Owner/ proprietor of M/s Noor Textile Mills) & Others, Fareed Ahmed Yousfani & Others, Muhammad Ilyas. s Ali Asghar Babhan. . The meeting was also informed that in 2020, ,24 persons were convicted by different courts. These were
Rizwan Ahmed Khan & others, Muhammad Jameel & others. Anwar Ali S/o Rajab Ali Rind., Jalil Ahmed Lashari & others, Aftab Ahmed Memon & others, Ghulam Abbas Soomro & others, Muhammad Nawaz Ansari. DG NAB-Karachi also informed the meeting that in 2019, 56 persons were convicted by different accountability courts. These included Shaikh Muhammad Asghar & others, Muhammad Rafi & others, Aziz-ur-Rehman & others, Muhammad Arshad Latif &others, Atif Iqbal & others, (Owner of M/s Siddiqui Roller Flour Mill, Mirpurkhas), Manzar Abbass S/o Agha Adil Abbass, Mansoor Ahmed, Karam Din Panhyar & others, Muhammad Sajjan Mallah S/o Muhammad Hashim Mallah, Mehboob Ali Zardari & others, Zubair Noor Muhammad & others, Kamran Nabi Ahmed & others, Asadullah Solangi & others, Abdul Wahab Abbassi, Ex- DOE (M) Karachi, now Director Schools Education Karachi,
