PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) assembly elected Shaukat Tarin as senator here on Monday.
PTI leader , Ayub Khan Afridi, had resigned from senate to pave way for Shaukat Tarin’s win as senator.
To meet a constitutional requirement to hold the office of a federal minister, it was essential for Shaukat Tarin to become a member of the parliament. Now after becoming a senator, Shaukat Tarin will become Finance minister. He is likely to take oath as a Finance minister.
After electing as a senator, Shaukat Tarin, spoke to media outside the KPK assembly. He said as senator he will serve the country and people better . He also divulged on gas crisis. He said ” Gas production was depleting fast so we need to be careful in its use”.
