Although my family and friends may object to my recent focus on the KP Police, I believe it is important to address the significant challenges they face, especially the loss of valuable lives within the police force. This write-up serves as my humble attempt to strike a balance, considering my previous critical remarks, which were not entirely unfounded.
Effective command and control, as well as checks and balances, play a pivotal role in maintaining the professionalism of any law enforcement agency, and the police cannot be an exception. Unfortunately, the force often falls victim to politicization in terms of postings and transfers, leading to the abuse of power.
On June 1st, 2023, at 11:27 am, in the bustling Bank Square of Mingora’s main bazaar, my cell phone camera captured a remarkable moment. It showcased a determined policeman standing resolutely in the path of a violator in one-way traffic, showcasing his unwavering commitment to maintaining order and averting congestion.
In a world where the police often face criticism for their thankless job, it is essential to appreciate their courage and dedication. Sadly, the recent loss of two police constables and a bank security guard to unidentified gunmen weighs heavy on our hearts. However, amidst such adversity, the brave, unarmed policeman in the photograph captured my admiration.
Just as the human body relies on the harmony of its cells to ward off life-threatening diseases, the police force depends on these brave individuals who serve on the front lines in the field . Their presence and actions form the foundation of law and order as well as the pivotal pillars on which rest the entire institution of the police service of Pakistan. .
Although I couldn’t personally offer much more than sincere appreciation, I recognized the significance of this policeman’s efforts to maintain order. Allowing the violator to enter the one-way lane would have resulted in severe traffic congestion, causing hours of inconvenience for countless individuals. Upon inquiry, I learned that his name and rank were Havaldar Muhammad Ullah from the Mingora Police Station.
Considering the impact that genuine appreciation from a common citizen can have, I wonder if it could serve as a citation for awarding Havaldar Muhammad Ullah, qualifying him at least for a commendation certificate. Such recognition would not only acknowledge his dutifulness but also serve as an encouragement to other personnel of the force who manage traffic on the busy roads across the entire Pakistan specifically KP province that face over – population implosion and hence unless efficient traffic management is in place, plying on these roads become next to impossible. Long Live Pakistan And Defenders Of Its Law And Order 🇵🇰
