THATHA: Bhumbor is a centries old city of Sindh and it has a significant historical status in Sindhi culture and civilisation.
Bhumbor had been a great attraction for historians and arcologists who come to Bhumbor city for study of centries old civilisation of Sindh
However, now this histirical city is in the grip of landgrabbers
The landgrabbers have manage to deprieve Bhumbor of major share of its land.
According to Amin Farooqi, district correspondent of NEWSMAN, powerful landmafia has grabbed 90 % land of Bhumbor city.
Sadly, the landmafia of Bhumbor city is so powerful that its not giving up its landgrabbing activity even when the issue is in the notice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
According to our district correspondent, Supreme Court had directed administration to take action against landgrabbers in Bhumbor . The apex court also issued directions to the authorities concerned to demark boundries of Bhumbor city to make sure that historical status of Bhumbor city remains preserved.
Despite clear directions of the Supreme Court, landgrabbing of this historical city is going on unabated.
The civil society has expressed serious concern over landgrabbing of Bhumbor city and demanded of the authorities to take action to retrieve grabbed land from the mafia.
The representatives of the civil society also pleaded to the Supreme Court to take notice of non implementation of its orders for protecting land of Bhumbor city by the local administration.
