In the picture, one can see Excise Hounds out on the main artery of Srinagar Highway in Islamabad, connecting to the Motorway, ostensibly hunting down sacrificial goats ahead of Eid.
I wonder whether the political elites, specifically the honourable Interior Minister who always basks in the glory whether Rafales are brought down or bridges are made for a ceasefire between Iran and America, realize that it is not at all enough to bring peace into the lives of common Pakistanis.
Rather, spectacles like this long gridlock add further misery to the lives of ordinary citizens of this Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who are already reeling under the unnatural spike in fuel prices with far-reaching economic implications for our already fragile economy. It exposes each household to hang by a thread for survival, where such shameless road shows are no longer either welcomed or tolerable.
May I humbly request the honourable Interior Minister to put his blessed foot down from the red carpet onto the ground, and bring such tamasha to a grinding halt, which is suffocating for ordinary citizens. Long Live Pakistan, Broker of International Peace but merchant of economic death for her own citizens 🇵🇰
