LAHORE, November 28, 2024 – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has given the federal government, Ministry of Interior, and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) an ultimatum to submit the records of persons whose names had been placed on Passport Control List (PCL).
The order came during a hearing of a miscellaneous petition filed by the Judicial Activism Panel, which questioned the legality of the PCL.
The petitioners argued that the FIA had unlawfully added names to the list without proper authority, claiming that the PCL has no legal standing.

LHC Chief Justice Aalia Neelum expressed frustration during the proceedings, asking if the concerned departments would take a year to provide the report.
In response, the court set a firm deadline for the federal government, Ministry of Interior, and FIA to submit the requested records.
The case has been adjourned until December 10, 2024, for further hearings.
