LHC orders Punjab government to decide pharmacist promotion case in two weeks

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered to the Punjab government to decide the matter of pharmacist promotion in two weeks in accordance with the law.

A single bench of judgr Sajid Mahmood Sethi of LHC issued the order on April 30 , 2021 in a petition filed by Farooq Bashir , a grade 19 officer of the health department of the Punjab government .

The petitioner, Farooq Bashir, contended in his petition that he qualifies for promotion in grade 20 against the post of chief drug controller/ provincial selection board, but his promotion was being delayed by the concerned authorities without any justification .

Junaid Jabbar Khan advocate, counsel for the petitioner, pleaded the case before the court on behalf of Farooq Bashir , and argued that his client was a dutiful professional officer and qualifies for promotion to grade 20 against the post of chief drug controller/ provincial selection boatd, but he was being denied his kegal right of promotion on different pretexts. The counsel for the petitioner also pleaded before the judge that the court may order the concernrd authorities to resolve the matter in two weeks as per the law.

Thw court upheld the arguments of the counsel for the petitiiner and directed to the concerned authoritues to resolve yhe matter of promotion of pharmacist in two weeks as per the law.
