ISLAMABAD: Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum has been appointed as the head of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), on Wednesday . His predecessor , Lt Gen Faiz Hameed has been transferred and appointed as Commander Peshawar Corps, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announcement said issued here .

Announcing key postings, the Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) added that Lt Gen Muhammad Aamer will now lead one of the major offensive formations of the Pakistan Army, the Gujranwala Corps. Lt Gen Syed Asim Munir will be the new Quarter Master General (QMG) of the Pakistan Army. He was earlier serving as Crops Commander Gujranwala.
Lt Gen Muhammad Saeed is the new Corps Commander Karachi and replaces Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum.
Major General Asim Malik was promoted to the three-star rank and posted as Pakistan Army’s Adjutant General. Lt Gen Nouman Mehmood has been appointed as president of the National Defence University.
Lt Gen Nadeem Ahmad Anjum was commissioned in a light anti-tank battalion of the Punjab Regiment and has diverse experience in command, staff and instructional assignments.
He is a graduate of the Combined Arms Centre UK, Staff College Quetta, Advance Staff Course UK, NDU Islamabad, APCSS USA and Royal College of Defense Studies UK
A graduate of UK’s Royal College of Defence Studies, Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum also holds a degree from the Asia-Pacific Centre for Security Studies, Honolulu.
Lt Gen Anjum is a native of Mohra Sheikhan, Kontrilla, in Rawalpindi district’s Gujar Khan.
The outgoing DG ISI, Lt Gen Hameed, was given the role on June 16, 2019, in a surprise military shake-up. He had previously served in the ISI as the head of internal security and is believed to be a close confidant of Army Chief Gen Qamar Bajwa.
Gen Faiz is from the Army’s Baloch Regiment. His appointment had come at a very crucial time when both external and internal security challenges seemed to be growing
Lt Gen Mohammad Amir is currently serving as the adjutant general. He has also served as the General Officer Commanding Lahore.
