Lt Gen (R) Bilal Akbar called back as ambassador from Saudi Arabia

Ameer Khurrum Rathore likely replacement

RIYADH (Saudi Arabia): The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government has finally called back Lieutenant General (R), Bilal Akbar, as Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

Ameer Khurrum Rathore ,. a career diplomat currently serving as Pakistan’s high commissioner to Canada, is likely a replacement of Lieutenant General (R), Bilal Akbarz as Pakistan’s s ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
Sources told NEWSMAN that Bilal Akbar is going to get a new assignment from the PTI government shortly.
Ameer Khurrum Rathore is likely to reach Riyadh next week to take responsibilities as Pakistan’s ambassador to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The rumours of calling back of Lieutenant. General , Bilal Akbar, as ambassador to Saudi Arabia were in the air for the last couple of months. Prime minister Imran Khan, had summoned Ameer Khurrum Rathore to Riyadh from Canada during his last visit to Saudi Arabia to interview him before taking a decision of calling back Bilal Akbar as Pakistan’s ambassador from that country .
NEWSMAN’s correspondent in Riyadh,, Rana Azeem , on Tuesday reported that. Lieutenant General, Bilal Akbar, had a fair well meeting with the staff of Pakistan’s embassy in Riyadh before departing from Riyadh to Islamabad Bilal Akbar also had a meeting with a Riyadh based group of Pakistani journalists associated with Pak Media Forum.
Addressing to the staff of Pakistani embassy in Riyadh, Lieutenant General (R), Bilal Akbar, said he as Pakistan’s ambassador did every possible effort to help Pakistani community in resolving the issues confronted with it in Saudi Arabia. He thanked the staff of the Pakistani embassy for assisting him during his stay as ambassador to Saudi Arabia and asked them to keep doing efforts to assist Pakistani community to make it realize the sense of like living in Pakistan.
Talking to the delegation of Pak Media Forum, Bilal Akbar said Pakistani journalists were doing great job for promoting Pakistan’s image in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
Pakistan’s deputy ambassador to Saudi Arabia , Tipu Usman, presented shield to retiring ambassador , Bilal Akbar , on the occasion.
