LONDON, November 14, 2024: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has dismissed recent media reports claiming she has throat cancer, stating that her health issues are related to a parathyroid condition.
Speaking at a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) event in London, Maryam addressed the rumors in the presence of her father, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and PML-N UK President Ahsan Dar.

Maryam confirmed that she had been in Geneva for medical check-ups, but clarified that she does not have throat cancer, as suggested in some reports.
“I’ve been working non-stop for the last eight months, and I have been suffering from a parathyroid issue, which can only be treated in places like Switzerland or the United States,” she explained.
She further expressed that she did not want to draw attention to her health matters but felt compelled to address the false rumors.

“I didn’t want to play the victim, but I have been forced to clarify this,” she said. Maryam also assured her supporters that she would return to Pakistan in two days.
Her comments come after widespread speculation regarding her health, which had raised concerns among both her supporters and the public.
