Rawalpindi : April 17,2024: in a rare move, the army have formed an inquiry committee on the allegations against General (R) Faiz Hameed. The High Level Inquiry Committee will be headed by a serving major general.
The army has decided to conduct an inquiry by starting a self-accountability process, the committee will also inquire into the allegations leveled against Faiz Hameed.
It should be remembered that a three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa ordered the petitioner to approach the Ministry of Defense while refusing to proceed under Article 184 C-3 in a case. The court had said that it is a matter of honor of the institution, so the institution should take action itself.
On which, on the orders of the Ministry of Defense, the leadership of the Pakistan Army has decided to conduct a self-investigation of the allegations against its former officer under the system of self-accountability of the institution.
