No Eid festivity this year; government bans tourism, public transport, closes down hotels, resorts

ISLAMABAD: In order to avoid public gatherings durung Eid holidays, the federal government on Tuesday notified ban on tourism across Pakistan from May 8 to May 16 , 2021 .

In a notification issued by Interior ministry here dated April 27, 2021, all provincial governments, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan governments and Islamabad administration have been directed to implement the ban as per notification between May 8 to 16, 2021.

As per notification the galiat in Muree and all other tourist points across Pakistan have been declared as ‘no entry point’ during the notified period ( May 8-16) 9 days.

Meanwhile, the government has also decided to ban public transport ( inter province and inter city) during this period.

According to the notification, the hotels, food points, resturants will remain closed across Pakistan from May 8 to16, 2021.

The federal government has taken harsh steps and imposed ban on many areas which traditionally have been a source of festivity for public during Eid holidays. This year Corona pandemic has changed everythimg and posed serious threat to very survival of the human being. Keeping deadly attack of third variant of COVID- 19, the government is taking every pissible step to avoid spread of the virus. The new restrictions slapped for Eid holidays are an attempt to curtail Corona virus in Pakistan.

The Natiinal Control and Command Centre (NCOC) is struggling to put new measures to avoid dangerous situation in Pakistan. Its new measures on Eid are in the same context .
