ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Tuesday decided not to impose lockdown to tackle with fifth corona variant.. Omicron.
Federal Information minister, Fawad Hussain Chaudhary, while briefing the media on decisions taken by the federal cabinet said the government was giving top priority to the plan made by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) to cope with corona and it dealt with the first four phases of the pandemic very successfully. He maintained that the federal cabinet noted with concern that the new corona variant, omicron, was spreading worldover at alarming pace and Pakistan should get ready to tackle the pandemic effectly. However, the cabinet categorically decided that the government will not go for lockdown to tackle with omicron threat.
On the issue of Nawaz Sharif’s going to United Kingdom in 2017 for treatment, Fawad Hussain Chaudhary said Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) supremo fled from Pakistan on the basis of fake medical reports. The minister added that the federal cabinet discussed the issue of Nawaz Sharif and decided to move Lahore High Court (LHC) to plead it to take action against PMLN president, Shahbaz Sharif, for not honouring his guarantee for return of Nawaz Sharif from London and complete his term in jail.
