ISLAMABAD: In responce to Zahir Jaffar, alleged killer of Noor Makadam , young daughter of ex Pakistan’s envoy, Shaukat Makadam, US embassy in Islamabad has clarified that in the case of any crime in any foreign country US citizens are subject to that country’s laws.
US embassy in Islamabad clarified its position on the alleged killer’s claim that he was a US citizen and the laws of Pakistan do not allow his prosecution in Noor Makadam’s henious murder case.
Apparently, the alkeged killer tried to give an impression to the police soon after his arrest that his detention and questioning in Noor Makadam’s murder case was illegal since he was a US citizen.
In a tweet issued by US embassy here on Tuesday it said “In a foreign country, U.S. citizens are subject to that country’s laws. When Americans are arrested abroad, the Embassy can check on their well-being and provide a list of lawyers, but cannot provide legal advice, participate in court proceedings or effect their release.

The alleged killer, Zahir Jaffar, had brutaly killed Noor Makadam on July 20, 2021 in his house in a posh sector of Islamabad. The police had arrested the accused from the spot the same day.
Later, the police had also arrested two security guards of the accused and his parents for hiding the facts of the case.
The accused, Zahir Jaffar, and other his accomplices are under police investigation since their arrests.
Noor Makadam’s henious murder in the daylight in Islamabad has created panic in the society.
The civil society of Pakistan is demanding trial of the case in anti terrorists court for speedy justice to the victim family.
