Peshawar – The security of markets across the district has been put on high alert for Eid-ul-Fitr shopping.Foot patrols, plainclothes personnel, lady police officers, rider squads, Ababeel squads, and mobile patrols have been activated. Additional officials have been deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow.
During the meeting, it was decided that responsible authorities of residential colonies, major commercial centers, and banks would be contacted to keep the watchman system active during Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.The police officers will be responsible for monitoring these security arrangements.
Checkpoints have been set up at important locations throughout the district, and police commandos have been deployed. As Eid approaches, efforts are being made to provide a peaceful shopping environment and ensure security at key locations.
A crucial meeting, chaired by District Police Officer (DPO) Abdul Rasheed, was held at the New DPO Complex Conference Hall. The meeting was attended by SDPOs of different circles, DSP Headquarters, SHOs of police stations, and other police officers.
During the meeting, the District Police Chief instructed the officers to increase police patrols in markets due to the expected rush of Eid shoppers.He directed the deployment of plainclothes officers, lady police officials, and increased police patrolling in markets. Rider and Ababeel squads were ordered to remain active in streets and alleys.
Similarly, the DSP Traffic was instructed to deploy additional staff on main roads and markets to maintain smooth traffic flow.
Furthermore, residents of housing colonies will be issued advisory notices, urging them not to leave their homes unattended during Eid. Bank and commercial center authorities will also be advised on security measures.
Checkpoints have been established on key roads across the district, with police commandos stationed at these points.
SDPOs have been given strict instructions to regularly inspect and ensure the effectiveness of all security arrangements.
