Islamabad, October 16, 2024: Pakistan is commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the death of Liaquat Ali Khan, the country’s first prime minister, and Shaheed-e-Millat.
He was born in Karnal‚ East Punjab. Liaquat Ali Khan received his education at Oxford University in United Kingdom and Aligarh Muslim University in India.
Then, he fought alongside Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to secure a distinct homeland for Subcontinental Muslims.
On this date in 1951, Khan was assassinated during a public gathering at Company Bagh in Rawalpindi, which was subsequently renamed Liaquat Bagh in his honor.
Doubts regarding the actual nature of his murder are still raised by the unanswered questions and incomplete investigations.
