ISLAMABAD, October 15, 2024: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a bilateral meeting with Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
During their discussion, Sharif praised Tajikistan’s active participation in the conference and reaffirmed the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
Reflecting on his productive visit to Dushanbe earlier this year, Sharif expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations.
He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration, particularly in trade, investment, energy, and regional connectivity.
Prime Minister Rasulzoda extended his warm congratulations on Pakistan’s successful hosting of the SCO meeting and thanked the country for its hospitality.
He conveyed best wishes from Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon and highlighted the significant potential for further strengthening ties.
Rasulzoda also expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s recent agreement to allow sugar exports to Tajikistan, which he noted would enhance bilateral trade.
