Rawalpindi : Pakistan won the first ODI match of the tri series here at Rawalpindi stadium against Sri Lanka on Sunday. Sri Lankan side could score only 268 runs in 48.1 overs against Pakistan ‘s 306 runs. Pakistan’s Salman Agha made a sizzling century and scored 107 runs off 90 balls. Agha’s blitz helped Pakistan won the game against Sri Lanka by 47 runs.
Chasing Pakistan’s total , Sri Lanka made a solid start . Its batters contributed good total in the first two phases of the match gave the visiting side a good chance to win the game , but Pakistani bowlers gave good performance and restricted Sri Lankan side to 268 runs and bag the crucial win for Pakistan.Shaheen Shah Afridi remained the most successful bowler with three wickets . Haris Rauf, NaseemShah and Faheem Ashraf each got two wickets.
Pakistan will play its next ODI against England on Tuesday in Lahore.Pakistan is hosting ODI tri series with Sri Lanka and UK.
