Islamabad : India’s Ajay Shah’s negative approach to make International Cricket Council (ICC) as an Indian stooge , damaged cricket more than anything as Pakistan decided on Sunday to participate in T20 World Cup 2026 , but its team will not play its match with India fixed for February 15.
Pakistan said ICC ‘ biased decistion to exclude Bangladesh from T20 world cup 2026 forced it not to play with India on February 15 to record protest against ICC behaviour in the case of Bangladesh for asking to shift its matches to a neutral venue.
Bangladesh had expressed security concern for its players for playing T20 matches in India and demanded of ICC to shift its matches to Sri Lanka , ICC took India ‘s line and not only rejected Bangladesh ‘s demand , but also expelled it from the tournament. Pakistan protested against ICC’s biased decision in the case of Bangladesh and reminded to ICC that it had given the same concession to India when a few years ago it refused to play in Pakistan. Pakistan also demanded of ICC not to set two precedents for two countries and stressed it to refrain from taking biased decision against Bangladesh.
ICC did not follow an unbiased approach and excluded Bangladesh from the tournament. Now Pakistan ‘s decision to boycott to play with India is going to hurt cricket game. ICC and Ajay Shah are responsible for damaging cricket game. Pakistan has taken a conscious decion on the issue and ICC and BCB are responsible for the loss that cricket will suffer when the fans will not see India –Pakistan match fixed for February 15,2026.
Pakistan team will leave for Sri Lanka tomorrow to play its first match of T20 world cup 2026 against Australia.
