The meeting considered a proposal of reopening of schools in different phases and approved it. In the first phase, higher schools and above educational institutions will reopen across Pakistan from September 15, 2020. This will follow reopening of middle schools from September 23 and in the last phase primary and junior sections will reopen from September 30, 2020.
The education committee will review the situation before reopening of the primary and junior schools.
The education committee meeting also approved a proposal for making it mandatory for the management of educational institutions to strictly follow the standard operational procedures (SoPs) to ensure safety of the students and teachers from the Cronoa virus.
The committee will forward its Monday’s decision to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) for endorsement and, if it approved, it will follow reopening of the schools as per announced schedule.
