LAHORE : Sept 6 :Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the Asia Cup Super Four stage match beat. Bangladeshi captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and decided to bat first in the Asia Cup Super Four stage match played in Lahore.
Bengal Tigers’ innings did not start well and on the very first ball of the second over of the match, Naseem Shah dismissed Mehdi Hasan, the opener who scored a century in the previous match, but he could not score any runs.
After the first wicket fell for zero, Latin Das came to support Mohammad Naeem and the two played quickly and scored 31 runs in the next 21 balls, but before the partnership could last longer, Latin Das scored an individual score of 16 runs.
The score reached 44 when captain Babar Azam decided to hand the ball to Haris Rauf, who ended the 20-run innings of Mohammad Naeem and Tawheed Hardui.
With these wickets, Haris Rauf became the third bowler to take 50 wickets in fewer matches for Pakistan.
After losing four wickets for 47 runs, the Bangladesh team was in trouble and at this stage Bangladesh’s most experienced duo of Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim came to the wicket.
Both the players used their experience to push the score forward and put up a 100-run partnership for the fifth wicket with a brilliant performance, while Shakib also completed his half-century.
This dangerous partnership came to an end when Shakib Al Hasan gave away the wicket of Faheem Ashraf after scoring 53 runs.
Meanwhile, Mushfiq continued his excellent performance from the second end and completed his fifty.
Mushfiq and Shamim Hussain had taken the score to 174 when Iftikhar Ahmed ended the left-handed batsman’s 16-run innings.
Babar Azam once again brought in Haris Rauf to get the wicket, who did not disappoint the captain and removed Mushfiqur who scored 64 runs on the wicket as well as Tasin Ahmad on the next ball.
From the other end, Naseem Shah also washed his hands in the flood of wickets and showed Afif Hussain the way back to the pavilion with the help of Faheem Ashraf.
Naseem bowled Shariful Islam while hunting another in the same over and rolled the chessboard of the Bangladeshi team.
The entire Bangladesh team was bowled out for 193 runs in 38.4 overs.
On behalf of Pakistan Haris Rauf got 4 wickets and Naseem Shah got 3 wickets while Shaheen, Faheem and Iftikhar got one wicket each.
From Pakistan, Imamul Haq and Fakhar Zaman started the innings cautiously and during this time Fakhar Zaman was also lucky when the Bangladeshi fielder failed to catch him in the slip.
Pakistan had just scored 15 runs in 5 overs when the match was stopped due to the failure of the floodlights in the field, but the game was restarted after a few minutes when the light was restored.
Imam and Fakhar gave the team a 35-run opening but Fakhar was dismissed for bringing the pads in front of the wickets on the same score, Fakhar scoring 20 runs.
After that, captain Babar Azam came to support Imam and both of them together brought the score to 74, but at this stage Babar could not keep his wicket and after scoring 17 runs became the wicket of Taskan.
From the other end, Imam-ul-Haq played a responsible game and scored his 19th half-century in ODI cricket.
Imam and Rizwan shared 85 runs for the third wicket, but Imam-ul-Haq, who batted aggressively to complete the century, was bowled by Mehdri Hasan Miraz after scoring 78 runs.
However, Pakistan continued to march towards victory and in the meantime Mohammad Rizwan also completed his half-century.
The Pakistani team easily reached the target 63 balls before and won the match by 7 wickets.
