Islamabad, (Newsman): In a significant move to deepen bilateral relations, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Alibek Bakayev, met with Pakistan’s Federal Secretary for Economic Affairs, Dr. Kazim Niaz.
The meeting highlighted the growing partnership between the two nations, with a focus on expanding cooperation through the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Joint Intergovernmental Commission (JIC).
The two sides agreed to hold the 13th session of the JIC in Islamabad and Karachi in January 2025.
A major topic of discussion was the transport and communication sector. Bakayev expressed Kazakhstan’s interest in utilizing Pakistan’s extensive infrastructure network, including its seaports and road links, to boost connectivity between the two countries.

Dr. Niaz assured full support for enhancing these ties under the framework of the upcoming JIC session.
In preparation for the JIC, both nations also agreed to convene Joint Working Group meetings on Trade & Investment, Agriculture, and ICT.

These meetings are aimed at ensuring smooth and effective decision-making during the high-level discussions in 2025.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further strengthen Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations, with both leaders expressing their intent to explore new areas of cooperation and solidify the strategic partnership between the two countries.
