Islamabad, April 2025 — In a landmark initiative to empower youth through skill-based education, the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (NEST-PEEF) awarded scholarships to students pursuing careers in tourism and hospitality management at a ceremony held at the Hashoo School of Hospitality Management, Bahria University Islamabad.
The event was attended by Minister of State for Education & Professional Training Ms. Wajiha Qamar, CEO of PEEF, Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Miss Zeb Jaffar, COO of Hashoo Hospitality & Education Division Mr. Haseeb A. Gardezi,
CEO of Hashoo Group Bastien Blanc, and other dignitaries. The ceremony showcased a successful public-private collaboration focused on educational advancement, job creation, and economic growth within Pakistan’s hospitality sector.
In her keynote address, Ms. Wajiha Qamar emphasized that education is a pillar of national development, and that initiatives like PEEF reflect the government’s dedication to inclusive, merit-based learning. She highlighted the transformative impact of partnerships between the government and institutions like the Hashoo School, which offer skills-driven education tailored to employment.
The CEO of PEEF outlined the organization’s scholarship efforts aimed at eliminating financial barriers for students, especially from underserved regions. The Tourism and Hospitality Scholarship, she noted, is a strategic effort to develop workforce-ready talent in an industry with strong growth potential.
Mr. Haseeb A. Gardezi reiterated the hospitality industry’s commitment to training the next generation of professionals. He praised the collaboration with PEEF and stressed the importance of nurturing skilled individuals who can contribute both to local industry and Pakistan’s international reputation.
The event concluded with the awarding of scholarships to deserving students, who are now set to begin their academic and professional journeys in one of the country’s most promising sectors.
