Perpetrators of Bannu cantt attack will be brought to justice : COAS

Rawalpindi :Army Chief General Asim Munir has said that the planners and facilitators of the heinous attack in Bannu will be brought to justice, while the armed forces will leave no stone unturned to ensure the safety and security of the people of Pakistan.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief General Asim Munir visited Bannu on March 4 after the terrorist attack by Fitna-ul-Kharij, where the Pakistan Army Chief was briefed on the security situation.
Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir reviewed the situation after the terrorist attack on the cantonment, the Army Chief was briefed on the ongoing operations and the overall security situation in the area.

According to the Pakistan Army Spokesperson, the Army Chief visited the injured personnel at CMH Bannu and appreciated their steadfastness and unwavering determination.
The Pakistan Army Chief praised the high morale and determination of the injured personnel.

On this occasion, Army Chief General Asim Munir said that the Pakistan Army will continue to play its role in ensuring the security and stability of the state and will continue to perform its duty of defending against terrorism for the stability of the country while no one will be allowed to disrupt the peace and stability of the country.

Stressing on the key role of the local community, General Asim Munir said that national unity is indispensable in the war against terrorism, he assured that the armed forces will leave no stone unturned to ensure the safety and security of the people of Pakistan.

The Army Chief expressed his condolences to the families of the innocent civilians who lost their lives in this heinous and cowardly act of terrorism.

He assured that although the perpetrators of this incident were immediately killed by the brave soldiers, the planners and facilitators of this cowardly attack will also be brought to justice soon, wherever they may be.

The Pakistan Army Chief said that the brutal targeting of civilians, including children, women and the elderly, has exposed the true intentions of the Khawarij as enemies of Islam.

Addressing the soldiers, the Army Chief praised their courageous actions and praised their prompt and decisive response in thwarting the nefarious intentions of the attackers.

He said that the war against the Khawarij and their facilitators, who act on the instructions of enemy elements, will continue to its logical conclusion.

According to the Pakistan Army Spokesperson, the Army Chief highlighted that terrorist groups including Fitna-ul-Khawarij are continuing their operations against Pakistan from Afghan soil.

General Asim Munir said that the use of foreign weapons in recent terrorist attacks is clear evidence that Afghanistan is a safe haven for such elements.

It should be noted that yesterday, security forces foiled an attempt by the attackers of Fitna-ul-Khawarij to infiltrate the Bannu cantonment and killed all 16 terrorists.

According to the ISPR, 5 soldiers were martyred during the clash with the terrorists, while 13 innocent civilians were martyred and 32 were injured in the attack.
