Lahore : The Lahore High Court Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz has resigned due to personal reasons.
According to the Lahore High Court website, Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz’s date of birth is September 9, 1971. He joined the Lahore High Court as an Additional Judge on November 26, 2016.
He was to retire on September 8, 2033, but he resigned from his post prematurely.
Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz wrote in his resignation that he could not work further due to personal reasons.
The Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz wrote in his resignation sent to the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan that he had assumed his duties as a judge of the Lahore High Court in 2016.
He wrote that during his tenure as a judge, he decided about 40,000 cases, however, ”I am resigning from my post under Article 206 of the Constitution of Pakistan and cannot perform further duties due to personal reasons”.
It should be noted that last year, Justice Shahid Jamil Khan of the Lahore High Court resigned from his post. Justice Shahid Jamil Khan was to retire in 2029, Justice Shahid Jamil Khan was at the eleventh position in the seniority list, the resignation sent by Justice Shahid Jamil said that I have served as a judge of the Lahore High Court for 10 years, now I have decided to resign immediately under Article 206 (1) of the Constitution of Pakistan of 1973. Justice Shahid Jamal had written in his resignation that it was a great honor to be a judge of the Lahore High Court, but due to personal reasons, I have decided to start a new chapter. Earlier, in January 2024, senior Supreme Court judges Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Mazahir Akbar Naqvi resigned from their posts.
