Islamabad – A major controversy has erupted in the power sector as the Chief Engineer (CE) of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco), Mr. Tahir Moeen, has been accused of forging his date of birth to unlawfully extend his tenure. According to credible sources, Mr.Tahir Moeen allegedly altered his birth year from 1964 to 1966, effectively prolonging his service and delaying his retirement.

A letter issued by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), a copy of which is attached with this report, confirms that Mr. Tahir Moeen’s actual date of birth is 1964, contrary to the records he allegedly manipulated.The PEC’s verification serves as key evidence against him in the ongoing investigation.

An inquiry has already been ordered, and demands for his immediate suspension are growing. Transparency advocates and legal experts insist that Mr. Tahir Moeen must be suspended immediately to prevent any influence over the investigation.
If the forgery is proven, authorities must recover all financial benefits, perks, and privileges he enjoyed due to the extended service.
The daily Newsman asked Muhammad Usman, Public Relations Officer PESCO, for a comments, he said that an inquiry committee is investigating the matter.
