Islamabad. The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has terminated services of its 52 employees on various grounds including fake/ bogus and tempered degrees. The PIA management has also issued appreciation letters to its 11 employees for showing dedication and performing up to mark for the organisation. The termination of 52 employees has come after grounding of 150 pilots by PIA for having fake licenses. The disclosure of some pilots having fake degrees was made by Aviation minister Sarwar Khan in parliament floor last month, which led to unending farore in and out of parliament. This also led to banning of PIA flights by European Union and United Kingdom for six months The PIA which once enjoyed a prestigious status in global aviation industry has been down graded in its ranks. The opposition is vehemently wailing the goverment policy of publicising the issue of fake licenses. The masses too are stun with this unwanted and uncalled far disclosure of fake pilots. They argue that the PTI goverment defamed PIA on purpose to first damage the airline and then hand it over to some of its cronies for peanuts. The government, however. defends it action and calls it a part of reforms programme to make PIA a best airline soon. According to Human Resources department, the management has terminated services of 25 employees for having found guilty of holding fake, bogus or tempered certificates and degrees. Another group of 21 employees has been terminated on prolong absence from duty. Two employees were terminated for making disclosure of official information on social and mainstream media . Another group of two employees was terminated for ovulation of discipline of the organisation. One faced demotion for being absent from duty. The PIA following the policy of carrot and stick also issued appreciation letters to 11 employees for their dedicated services to the organisation.
