ISLAMABAD. After a break of around three months, Pakistan International Airline( PIA) is resuming flights to United Kingdom (UK) from August 14, a PIA spokesman twèeted on August 4,2020. UK was the first country to ban PIA flights in the wake of suspected pilots issue. Soon after European countries had followed the suit. Then many other countries followed EU and UK including United State to ban PIA from flying to those countries. This brought huge pressure on Pakistani government besides almost bringing the national flag carrier to the knees. However, Pakistan continued pushing its reforms programme to purge the national airline of suspected pilots. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Tehrik Insaf (PTI) government used other channels like diplomatic front to persuade international air safety agencies that PIA will soon be a clean airline with best professional pilots to operate to all international destinations. These efforts have yielded the result with lifting of ban on PIA flights by UK.
