ISLAMABAD : Prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif, has asked Indian counterpart Narender Modi, to let make a new start for resolution of all outstanding issues between the two countries including Kashmir through talks.
The prime minister on Sunday wrote a letter to his Indian counterpart in response to the letter written earlier by the latter to congratulate him in becoming prime minister of Pakistan .
“Let’s sit together to find an amicable solution to all thorny issues including long outstanding dispute of Kashmir’ , the prime minister asked in his letter sent to Indian counterpart on Sunday.
A few day ago, Indian prime minister , Narender Modi, had written a letter to Shahbaz Sharif to greet him on becoming the prime minister of Pakistan. The Indian prime minister had expressed good wishes for the newly elected prime minister of Pakistan and expressed desire to move forward to establish lasting peace in the region. Pakistan’s prime minister had given positive response to Indian prime minister’s good wishes and expressed immediate availability of Islamabad to resolve all controversial issues including Kashmir through talks. Prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , had noted in his first ever communication as prime minister with Indian counterpart that both India and Pakistan should resolve outstanding issues and utilise their resources to fight out poverty from their respective countries .
Pakistan and India had initiated a process of dialogue and held many rounds of talks at different levels in the past, but since the level of mistrust is huge these efforts could not make a headway to help Islamabad and New Delhi reach to a comfortable zone to get resolved thorny issues like Kashmir and border disputes .
Now when both Islamabad and New Delhi seem serious in resuming dialogue process and find out some amicable solution to all unresolved issues including Kashmir its hoped that the new initiative will be result- oriented .
