ISLAMABAD, November 6, 2024: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif traveled to Gilgit-Baltistan on Wednesday for a day-long visit to inaugurate a series of important development projects in the region.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will formally open newly constructed homes in Buber village, Ghizer district, built for families affected by the catastrophic 2022 floods.
The new housing initiative is part of the government’s ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts to support those displaced by the disaster.

In addition to the flood relief efforts, Prime Minister Sharif will inaugurate several major infrastructure projects, including the much-anticipated Naltar Expressway, which aims to improve transportation and connectivity in the region.
He will also unveil the Greater Water Supply project in Hunza, designed to address water scarcity in the area, and a 54 MW hydropower plant in Attabad, which is expected to enhance the region’s energy supply.

The visit underscores the government’s commitment to developing Gilgit-Baltistan, with a focus on infrastructure, energy, and disaster recovery.
