Islamabad : March 3,2024: Pakistan Muslim League (PMLN) president , Shahbaz Sharif , sworn as Pakistan ‘s prime minister here on Monday. President , Dr Arif Alvi , administrated oath from the prime minister.
The oath taking ceremony of the prime minister was held at Awan e Sadar . Former president , Asif Ali Zardari , Pakistan People Party (PPP) chief and ex- Foreign minister , Balawal Bhutto , army chief , Syed Asim Munir , attended the ceremony. All four governors , newly elected chief ministers of Sindh , Balochistan and Punjab attended the oath taking ceremony of the prime minister . However , Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) chief minister did not attend the ceremony. KPK chief minister ‘s skipping of the prime minister ‘s oath taking ceremony has set a tone for Shahbaz Sharif ‘s government . Pakistan Tehreek- e Insaf (PTI) members national assembly also set a tone in their speeches delivered in the parliament on Monday when they made it ample clear that they will not allow any one to rule in Pakistan of their right (reserved seats) was not given to their party. It was a co incident that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) turned down PTI demand and decided not to allocate its alliance led by Sunni Ittehad Counsel (SIC) its reserved seats. ECP decision deprived SIC and PTI of 23 reserved seats of the lower house of the parliament. SIC and PTI is not bugging down from its course of collision. PTI is determined to take fight with state organs to logical conclusion. No matter how much it costs to it.
