Islamabad : March 4 , 2024 : The Pakistan Muslim League (Q) on Monday assured a delegation of Pakistan People Party (PPP) that it will vote for Asif Ali Zardari in upcoming presidential election . PPP delegation ,led by former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani , had held a meeting with PMLQ leadership here and requested it for vote for Asif Ali Zardari in the presidential election .
PMLQ leaders who were present in the meeting included Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain, Ch Salik Hussain , Tariq Bashir Cheema , former MNA , Farah Khan and Ghulam Mustafa Malik . PMLQ accepted the PPP request and assured it that its members in the parliament will vote for Asif Ali Zardari in the presidential election. PPP leaders thanked PMLQ leadership for supporting Asif Ali Zardari in presidential election .
Talking on the occasion , Chaudhary Salik Hussain said PMLQ will Stand with the government in the current situation to assist it to pull Pakistan out of the on-going crisis. The election for president of Pakistan is scheduled for March 9 , 2024. PPP supremo , Asif Ali Zardari and BAMP chief , Mahmood Khan Achakzai , are contesting the election of the president.
Asif Ali Zardari is a joint candidate of the ruling alliance and Mahmood Khan Achakzai is a nominee of Sunni Ittehad Counsel (SIC) to which Pakistan Tehreek- e Insaf (PTI) is a main party. Both Asif Ali Zardari and Mahmood Khan Achakzai are actively engaged in campaign to muster maximum support of the parliamentarians for the presidential election.
