PMSA backs SCC protest for key administrative reforms

ISLAMABAD– May 17,2024 : The Provincial Management Officers Association (PMSA) has announced its full support for the upcoming protest organized by the Secretariat Coordination Council (SCC), set to take place on May 22, 2024, at the Civil Secretariat in Peshawar. The demonstration aims to address several critical issues affecting provincial administration and the welfare of its employees.

The protest will highlight four primary demands:

1. Repatriation of Deputationists: The SCC is calling for the immediate return of officers on deputation to their parent departments. This measure is intended to ensure fair administrative practices and optimize resource utilization within the provincial administration. The PMSA asserts that the repatriation is crucial for maintaining an efficient and balanced administrative structure.

2. Utility Allowance: Protesters will advocate for the implementation of a comprehensive utility allowance to help employees manage the rising costs of essential services. With the cost of living continuing to increase, the PMSA emphasizes that this allowance is necessary to support the financial stability of provincial employees.

3. Unfreezing of Executive Allowance: Another key demand is the reinstatement of the executive allowance, aligning it with provisions already in place at the federal level and within the Punjab government. The PMSA argues that this move is essential for ensuring parity among provincial officers and maintaining their motivation and morale.

4. Housing Scheme for Employees and Officers: The establishment of a dedicated housing scheme for employees and officers is also on the agenda. The PMSA advocates for this initiative to provide affordable housing solutions, which would significantly improve living conditions and overall job satisfaction for provincial staff. The PMSA firmly believes that these demands are not only just but also vital for the well-being and efficient functioning of the provincial administration. The association calls on all its members and supporters to stand united in pursuit of these fundamental rights. As the date of the protest approaches, the PMSA remains committed to advocating for these essential reforms and ensuring that the voices of provincial employees are heard and addressed.
