ISLAMABAD : After around 11 hours, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader , Shireen Mazari , was set free in land grabbing case on the orders of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
A single bench of IHC Chief Justice , Athar Minallah , ordered release of Shireen Mazari after a short hearing of the case filed by Amaan Mazari against arrest of her mother . The court also ordered judicial inquiry into the matter.
The police had arrested Shireen Mazari at around 1 PM on Saturday in land grabbing case. Soon after Shireen Mazari’s arrest, her daughter, Amaan Mazari had challenged the police action of arresting her mother before IHC. IHC assembled at around 11.30 PM and announced judgement at mid night.
Narrating her ordeal before the court, Shireen Mazari said she was tortured after arrest. She held prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif and Interior minister , Rana Sanaullah, responsible of her arrest.

Shireen Mazari, a former federal minister and senior Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader, was arrested on Saturday in land grabbing case here.
Shireen Mizari will be handed over to Anti Corruption Punjab for investigation into the case. She was arrested by Dera Ismail Khan (D I Khan) police in land grabbing case. Shireen Mizari has allegedly grabbed 40000 kanal land in D I Khan. She will be interrogated in the case by Anti Corruption Punjab
Shireen Mizari was arrested in Islamabad . After arrest, Shireen Mazari was shifted to Kohsar police station in Islamabad. Mrs Mirazi will be shifted to D I Khan sometimes today.
Imaan Mazari, daughter of Shireen Mazari, told media person outside Kohsar police station here that her mother has been kidnapped . She said some unidentified person beater her mother and took away from her house. She said ” I will not say my mother was arrested because when someone is arrested lawfully,the police formally charge the person before arrest”. PTI leaders, Fawad Chaudhary and Shibli Faraz were also accompanying Imaan Mizari outside the police station.
