Islamabad : Dec 25 ; On the direction of the caretaker Prime Minister , Anwaarul Haq Kakar , President , Dr Arif Alvi , has removed Ahad Khan Cheema as advisor to the Establishment of the federal government.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had directed some one month ago to the government to remove Ahad Khan Cheema as advisor with immediate effect.
The Kakar government initially shrugged -off implementation of ECP orders ECP had to reaffirm its orders to get its decision regarding removal of Ahad Khan Cheema get implemented .
On December 21 , the Cabinet Division had forwarded a summary to the prime minister for immediate removal of advisor Ahad Khan Cheema from his position .
Ahad Khan Cheema , a bureaucrat known for his loyalty to the Pakistan Muslim League (PMLN) , was appointed as an advisor to the caretaker Prime Minister , Anwaarul Haq Kakar .
The appointments of Ahad Khan Cheema and Fawad Hussan Fawad , another retired bureaucrat with tainted past and known for loyalty with PMLN , had stirred ripples among the political opponents of PMLN and PTI, in particular, had challenged these two appointments in the court of law.
Aziz ud din Kakakhel, had moved a petition in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for removal of these two PMLN loyalists and members of Mr Kakar cabinet as advisor claiming that in the presence of Ahad Khan Cheema and Fawad Hasan Fawad the elections can not be held in fair and free manners.
Meanwhile , again on ECP insistence the prime minister has sought panel for replacement of deputy commissioner Islamabad and Inspector General of Police Islamabad . This controversy is also roaring between Kakar government and ECP for months. Despite unnumbered public complaints, Kakar government is not ready to remove these two officers from their posts.
