Sukkur, – President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari chaired a crucial meeting at the Commissioner Office Sukkur to discuss law and order in the region. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Provincial Minister, and other officials.
The president expressed concern over the ineffective targeted operations against bandits in slum areas, despite police and Rangers’ efforts. He stressed the need to close the supply lines of bandits and establish complete peace before launching operations.
The meeting highlighted the importance of ending bloody conflicts between communities to restore peace and order. It was decided that the slum areas of Punjab, including Kashmore, Kandhkot, Shikarpur, Sukkur, and Ghotki districts, need to be addressed.
The president emphasized the need for swift completion of the Ghotki and Karampur Bridge construction and the restoration and safety of Sukkur Barrage, a vital asset for agriculture.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to work towards a prosperous Pakistan, ensuring the safety and security of citizens.
Earlier, the president’s arrival in Sukkur led to a brief closure of Airport Road and Military Road, causing inconvenience to citizens and travelers. The roads were reopened after his departure.
