SIALKOT: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) won PP -38 seat in Sialkot with a big magin of over 7 thousands votes here on Wednesday.
According to un- official result, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) candidate, Ahsan Saleem Baryar , got 60588 votes against Tariq Subhani of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), who could get 53471 votes.
PP -38 had fallen vacant due to demice of Ch Khush Akhtar Subhani, elder brother of losing PMLN candidate.
PTI’s Ahsan Saleem Baryar’s win from PPP -38 Sialkot, a constituency which was considered as a fort of PMLN in Sialkot, is a major setback to it.
PP -38 Sialkot was a home constituency of PMLN candidate, Tariq Subhani, son of Ch Akhtar Verio, once a powerful politician of the Punjab. The losing from home constiteucy that too in a by election is a serious blow to Verio family as well as PMLN.
Losing first in Azad Jummu Kashmir and now in Sialkot provincial assembly election has raised serious question over PMLN leadership’s political narrative of anti Establishment. It has established that the voters do not buy PML N’s narrative of targetting the army and other key state departments.
Chief minister Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar, Speaker Punjab, Ch Pervez Elahi, other Chaudharies of Gujrat and PTI leadership congratulated Ahsin Saleem Baryar for winning PP -38 election with a big margin.
