ISLAMABAD, November 26, 2026: Thousands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Ghandpur and PTI chairman Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, reached D-Chowk after defying roadblocks, clashes with police, and intense tear gas shelling.
The convoys, stretching over 15 kilometres, made their way from various parts of the country, facing fierce opposition from security forces as they crossed Chungi No 26 and continued toward Islamabad.
Violent clashes ensued as the protestors reached Katti Pahari on the Motorway, forcing the police and paramilitary forces to retreat into nearby hilly areas, clearing the path for the marchers.

D-Chowk, located in Islamabad’s heavily fortified Red Zone, is a significant site for political protests, as it leads to key government buildings, including the Parliament House, the Supreme Court, and the Prime Minister’s Office.
Amid the unrest, reports indicated that the government and PTI were engaged in back-channel talks. The government reportedly offered Sangjani, a venue on the outskirts of Islamabad where PTI held a rally in September, as an alternative location for the protest.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the convoy from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa included over 34,000 people. The protest was called by Imran Khan on November 13, demanding the restoration of PTI’s electoral mandate, the release of detained party members, and the reversal of the 26th Amendment, which he claims has empowered a “dictatorial regime.”
