ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Quetta has sentenced former Balochistan finance secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Raisani to 10 years imprisonment in a maga corruption case of the history of Balochistan.
The reserved verdict was announced by Accountability Court-I Judge
Munawar Ahmed Shahwani. The court ordered that the properties of the accused should be seized and deposited into national exchequer. The culprit would be disqualified for any post for 10 years.
Mir Khalid Lango, the former adviser to Balochistan chief minister, and Raisani had been given a accumulative sentence of 12.5 years prison sentence, besides confiscating their movable and immovable properties and depositing into national exchequer.
NAB had started investigations of billion of rupee corruption
against the officers of Local government and finance ministry Balochistan. It was revealed during the course of investigations that former secretary finance Mushtaq Raisani in collaboration with Lango had devoured Rs 2.25 billion while releasing funds worth Rs 2.34 to two municipal committees Khaliqabad and Machh.
Following these revelations, a raid was conducted at the residence of Mushtaq Raisani and recovered Rs 800 million local and foreign currency (current value). Some 3 kg gold was also seized from his residence. The media had covered the raid live.

During the investigations a some of Rs 1 bilion was recovered from Saleem Shah and his benamidars fore 11 properties of DHA Karachi. Some Rs 130 million The co accused Tariq and Naeem Iqbal after approving their plea bargain. The plea bargain application of former secretary finance was rejected by NAB.
The investigation team of NAB had filed a reference against the suspects of mega corruption scam of Balochistan. The court sentenced 10 years imprisonment to Mushtaq Saisani and 26 months imprisonment to Khalid Longo. The accountability court ordered confiscation of Rs 800 millions and seizure of their movable and immovable properties, besides disqualification of 10 years. Chairman appreciated the performance of NAB Balochistan saying that the bureau was making serious efforts to take the corruption cases to logical conclusion.
