RAWALPINDI: In an ongoing crackdown on illegal constructions and unauthorized commercial activity, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has sealed the Saver Foods warehouse located on Kallar Road, Rawat.
According to an RDA spokesperson, the action was taken on the orders of Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza, due to serious violations of land use and construction regulations. The warehouse was reportedly operating without proper approvals and in clear breach of zoning bylaws.
The enforcement operation is part of RDA’s broader campaign to ensure strict compliance with zoning and regulatory frameworks across the city. DG Kinza Murtaza reaffirmed RDA’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and orderly urban development, emphasizing that all commercial entities must obtain required approvals before initiating operations.
“This decisive action reflects RDA’s zero-tolerance policy against unauthorized commercial activity and illegal construction,” she said, adding that the move aligns with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s direct instructions for strict action against encroachments and illegal developments.
She further urged all business operators to adhere to legal requirements and encouraged the public to support efforts in maintaining encroachment-free, accessible, and safe city spaces.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of RDA Building Superintendent Shafiq-ur-Rehman, with Building Inspectors Shehzad Mehmood, Asim Nawaz, Building Surveyor Amir Mehmood Malik, and other RDA staff participating in the action.
