Islamabad – December 17, 2025: The Kailash Valleys Development Authority (KVDA), in collaboration with the Agha Khan Foundation Pakistan, successfully organized a Resource Mobilization Workshop at the Agha Khan Foundation Complex, Islamabad.
The event was graced by Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Tourism, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Isphanyar M. Bhandara, Member of the National Assembly and Federal Parliamentary Secretary for SAFRON, also attended as a guest of honor.
The workshop saw high-level participation from diplomats, development partners, and experts, including: UNESCO Representatives and Aftab Rana, Chairman PTDC, Nasir Iqbal, Additional Secretary Inter-Provincial Coordination, Sartaj Ahmad Khan, Former Nazim Chitral and Former Coordinator FPCCI Regional Office Peshawar, Saadat Hussain, Secretary Tourism Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Secretary Establishment Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Vice Chancellor of the University of Chitral, KVDA Leadership: Ahmad Ali (Chairman), Minhas din DG KVDA, Shahzada Maqsood Ul Mulk (Chairman), and Syed Harir Shah (Member), Haji Maghferat Shah, Former District Nazim Chitral, eneral Irfan Irshad, President Alpine Foundation.
The workshop brought together a large number of development partners and tourism consultants who engaged in detailed deliberations regarding cultural preservation and the promotion of sustainable tourism in the Kailash Valleys.
Additionally, KVDA established a specialized stall at the Serena Complex showcasing the cultural and tourism products of the Kailash Valley. The Chief Guest and participants highly appreciated the exhibition and reaffirmed their continuous support for KVDA’s mission.
To ensure the effective implementation of the decisions and commitments made during the workshop, a dedicated Task Force was established. This body will be responsible for overseeing and driving future development initiatives for the region.
