Dr Safdar Ali Abbasi, President Pakistan Peoples Party ( Workers) , Naheed Khan, Political Assistsnt to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack at Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam in the Anantnag district of Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir killing at least 26 tourists .
“Our thoughts are with the families of the victims and those affected by this tragedy . At the same time we strongly condemn Indian government’s reaction to the Pahalgam attack. Blaming Pakistan without conducting a thorough investigation is highly reprehensible” They said.
The duo noted that Indian government’s blaming Pakistan not only undermines the principles of international justice but also shows their hostility towards Pakistan. Furthermore, decision by the indian government to suspend the Indus Water Treaty is a drastic measure that have far-reaching consequences and exacerbate the suffering of the people in the region who are dependent on the Indus River system.
The Indus water treaty has been a cornerstone of water cooperation between the two countries, despite their differences, and its suspension will further exacerbate tensions in the region. We demand the Pakistan’s government that the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty by the Indian Government should be taken up on the diplomatic front at international level to expose the real face of India and to resolve the issue between the two countries because this is a matter of vital importance for the millions who will lose their livelihoods, they argued .
According to the duo , Pakistan has already denied and condemned this attack but Indian government’s venom has no end . This is high time for every single Pakistani whatever their political differences are to stay united as a Nation against Indian Hegemony . We can only defeat our enemies by our resolve and love for our homeland .Long live Pakistan
