Holy City of Makkah (Saudi Arabia) – July 2025 : The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) in the Makkah region has announced that its volunteers recorded a remarkable 30,362 volunteer hours during the second quarter of 2025. These efforts spanned across 509 volunteer opportunities, with a primary focus on delivering emergency medical services to pilgrims, worshippers, and visitors at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
In addition to their frontline medical support, SRCA volunteers actively participated in a range of humanitarian, health, and public awareness initiatives, including World Red Crescent Day, the Your Health First program, the Walk 30 initiative, various sporting events, and first aid training courses designed to build capacity among male and female volunteers.
Among the region’s cities, Jeddah led the way with 276 volunteer opportunities, followed by Makkah with 187, and Taif with 46.
A total of 4,631 volunteers contributed to these efforts, comprising 2,934 men and 1,697 women. These individuals represented a diverse array of medical professionals, including consultants, general physicians, and emergency medicine specialists, reflecting the authority’s commitment to delivering high-quality volunteer-led care and support.
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Makkah region continues to invest in the training and development of its volunteers through specialized courses aimed at enhancing readiness and professional competence.
